VAT and shipping in peptide prices

Why every price on Peptilyze is in euros including VAT, how we handle shops that list prices without VAT, and what the numbers leave out.

Last reviewed

The price in a comparison table is only useful if every row means the same thing. This guide explains the basis Peptilyze uses, what we add to a price, and the costs that stay outside the table.

The basis: euros including VAT

All prices on Peptilyze are shown in euros including VAT. A price that includes VAT is the figure that can be compared with what a consumer pays at checkout. Everything else on the site, from unit prices to price per mg, is calculated from that figure.

Shops that list prices without VAT

Some shops show prices without VAT and add it at checkout. To compare them with shops that include it, we add the VAT rate of the shop’s own country to the listed price and round to the cent. Those rows say so, for example “incl. 20% VAT”, and the original price appears when you hover over it.

Example, with made-up numbers: a listing of €25.00 without VAT at a rate of 20% becomes €30.00 in the table.

When the rate is an estimate

If a shop does not state its rate, we use a rate we assume for its country and mark it “est.”. An estimate can be wrong, for instance when a shop applies a reduced rate or a different rule for the buyer’s country. A figure marked “est.” is a good approximation, not a promise.

When the shop never says

Some shops never state whether their prices include VAT. We assume these prices include VAT, which is the usual way consumer shops show prices, and tag them “VAT unconfirmed”. If the shop adds VAT at checkout, the true price is higher than the one shown.

VAT differs by country

Rates are not the same everywhere, and the rate that applies to an order can depend on where the shop is and where you live. We do not calculate your personal rate. The table shows the price on the basis described above, and your checkout shows the final amount.

What the numbers leave out

  • Shipping. Shipping fees differ by shop, destination, order size and speed. They are not in any price on Peptilyze.
  • Customs and import charges. A parcel that crosses a border can attract duties, taxes or handling fees. We do not calculate these.
  • Payment fees and discount codes. A shop may add a fee for some payment methods or offer a code at checkout. Neither is part of the listed price.
  • Minimum order values and free-shipping thresholds. They change what an order really costs.

Why the checkout total can differ

Put together, the amount you pay can differ from the table: the shipping fee, a different VAT rule, a payment fee, or a price that changed after our last hourly sync. For a fair comparison of two shops, add their shipping fees to the price for your own address before you decide.

A short example

Made-up numbers: Shop A lists a vial at €28.00 including VAT and charges €6.00 shipping. Shop B lists the same vial at €25.00 without VAT at a rate of 20%, which our table shows as €30.00, and charges €2.00 shipping. The table puts A ahead of B, yet for a single vial A costs €34.00 in total and B €32.00.

This is why the table is a starting point. Check the shop’s page for the exact price, VAT and delivery costs before you order.
